Ahsoka isn’t coming back to Disney Plus anytime soon! An update from one of the Star Wars show’s stars suggests season 2 has a long way to go before filming.
Ahsoka was one of the most successful Star Wars projects to hit Disney Plus in recent years, managing to recapture to magic and surprise fans have been missing from the galaxy far, far away. With the show renewed for season 2 at the start of this year, fans have been on the edge of their seat for any news about production on the series.
However, it seems they’ll be waiting on that edge for a long time. Ahsoka star Natasha Liu Bordizzo revealed that this time next year she’ll be busy filming a project, with many assuming this to be season 2 of the Star Wars series. If true, this would mean the show won’t return to Disney Plus until at least 2026, if not later.
Ahsoka’s Future In The Star Wars Universe
Even though season 2 of Ahsoka isn’t coming anytime soon, this update doesn’t mean its characters will be entirely absent from Star Wars projects. Footage from D23 confirmed that an iconic Star Wars Rebels character will return in The Mandalorian & Grogu, potentially suggesting that others may make his return in the project as well.
Dave Filoni also has big plans for the Ahsoka cast. The beloved writer turned Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm has a Star Wars film coming down the pipeline, with many believing it to center around some of the characters he’s brought from the animated world to Disney Plus. Though given that film is said to release after season 2, fans still have a while to speculate.
