Are Batman and Superman already gearing up for a crossover? James Gunn gives his thoughts on a title for the potential team-up film.
Ever since it was revealed that new actors would be cast for Batman and Superman in the DC Universe, fans have been dreaming about how they could meet once more on the silver screen. While the Caped Crusader hasn’t even been cast, it seems James Gunn has some thoughts on what would happen if the two heroes had a crossover.
A recent commenter on Instagram asked if James Gunn had any thoughts on a title if, hypothetically, Batman and Superman ever had another crossover film. James Gunn only had two words in response, revealing that he would title the fictional DC Universe film “World’s Finest.” This name serves as a nod to the World’s Finest Comics that served as a team-up book for the two heroes for over 40 years.
Could Batman And Superman Meet In The DC Universe?
Even though Batman doesn’t have an actor in the new DC Universe, it seems almost inevitable that David Corenswet’s Superman would meet Gotham’s Guardian on the big screen. James Gunn has already teased certain incarnations of the Justice League and its members multiple times during production of the upcoming Superman film, which would certainly be the perfect place for the World’s Finest to crossover.
However, fans may already know how Batman and Superman will meet. A fan posted an image of the two heroes sharing coffee from the long-running How It Should Have Ended web series, saying he’d eat a shoe if the scene was recreated in the DC Universe. In response, James Gunn asked for specifics about what would be required for him to eat a shoe, teasing a similar interaction may be coming down the pipeline.
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
